ANNE HARRIS
Anne
has been a UWG member since December 2000. Her second novel, ACCIDENTAL
CREATURES, won the first
ever Spectrum Award
for best novel dealing with GLBT characters. She has, at various times,
worked as an operations research analyst for the Department of Defense, a
vegetarian cook, a dry-cleaner, a book store clerk, a small-town reporter
and a PR writer. She has a degree in computer and information science from
Oakland University. Anne Harris lives in Royal Oak with her husband Steve,
their dog, Rodney, and cats, Hector and Mavis. You can reach Anne

LISA LEUTHEUSER
Lisa has been a UGW member since
November 1993. Although she primarily reads science fictoin, Lisa finds
herself more often writing fantasy. She has primarily worked on large
fantasy triology (first book complete but unsold as of yet, but she lives
in hope), and she has several other projects bumping around as well.
Her main non-writing hobbies are Tai
Chi, gardening, and roleplaying games. She lives in Ann Arbor with
her husband Joe and two cats affectionately known as "The Bastards".
STEVEN HARPER PIZIKS
Steven lives in
Ypsilanti, Michigan with his wife and son. When not
at the keyboard, he sings, plays the folk harp, and collects folk
music. In the past, he's held jobs as a reporter, theater producer,
secretary, and substitute teacher. He maintains that the most
interesting thing about him is that he writes books. He writes
under both STEVEN PIZIKS and STEVEN HARPER.
ERICA SCHIPPERS
Erica was born and raised in West Virginia. (Do not tell her WV jokes, she
has heard them *all*.) Her first story starred a turkey. Things have
improved quite a bit since then, and she consequently has one professional
publication forthcoming. Her hobbies include programming, fiddling, weight
lifting, and sampling single malts. She currently lives in Ypsilanti, MI
with her husband, two cats, and a hedgehog named 'Pratchett Og'.
CATHERINE SHAFFER
Catherine is a
biochemist, a mom, and a writer. She attended the
Clarion workshop in 1997, and has sold two stories professionally since
then. She has also accumulated a series of honors from the Writers of the
Future Contest, most notably a finalist finish. Her science articles have
appeared in various newsletters, newspapers, and in _Analog_. She lives in
Ann Arbor with her family, and her hobbies include running, swimming,
sewing, and playing the violin.
SARAH ZETTEL
Sarah is a founding member of the UWG. She was born in Sacramento,
California. She began writing stories in fourth grade and never
stopped. In addition to numerous short stories, Sarah has five
Science Fiction novels published and recently completed her first
Fantasy triology. Her novel RECLAMATION won the Locus award for
best first novel, and she was a Philip K. Dick award nominee. She
lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan with her husband, her son, and Buffy
the Cat. Her hobbies include belly dancing,
Tai Chi, and drinking
fine teas.
